Playing at Coopers Creek with Trudy Lile and Mojave, Sunday 13th March 1-4pm

A sophisticated yet versatile package, Mojave is a contemporary jazz quartet based in Auckland. Formed in 2000, Mojave features the unique sound of jazz flute within the format of a jazz quartet. Our music is expertly performed by an ensemble of high calibre, experienced professional musicians, who have the ability to read and adapt to the musical ambience of any event or function. The music explores jazz, Latin, blues, reggae, lounge and other energetic grooves exciting new original material, as well as favourite jazz standards as featured on our new album ‘Well dressed Standards’ released in 2009.

Several publications have reviewed our previous album ‘Ristretto’ favourably including New Zealand Musician Magazine “one of the best albums I’ve heard this year.”

Mojave performs regularly in Auckland at jazz venues and festival performances all around New Zealand are a regular feature. Highlights include a sell out concert at The National Jazz Festival in Tauranga 2007, as well as recent popular performances at Nelson Jazz Festival and Mission Bay Jazz and Blues Festival in 2009. I am playing with them at the Coopers Creek venue, 1-4pm on 13th February 2011.
